The University of Montpellier launches the "5 minutes to convince" competition: a springboard for student projects.

The University of Montpellier is inviting students to take part in the "5 minutes to convince" competition , an event that puts the spotlight on professional and entrepreneurial projects while offering exceptional prizes and unique opportunities. If you're a student at the University of Montpellier and have an innovative idea, now's the time to make it shine!

A stimulating presentation challenge

The competition offers participants the opportunity to present their project in just 5 minutes to a panel of experts from the socio-economic world and higher education. The challenge is an excellent opportunity to showcase your ideas and develop your oral communication skills, while benefiting from personalized support to turn your ambitions into reality.

Attractive prizes for winners

Winners in the various categories will have the chance to take home valuable prizes. Each winner will receive an EliteBook 14-inch computer, a powerful tool for pursuing his or her project, as well as tailor-made support to bring their idea to fruition. This includes incubator services, expert advice and opportunities with recruitment agencies.

For the 30 semi-finalists, participation prizes will also be awarded, giving all participants recognition for their efforts.

Competition categories

The competition is divided into two main categories:

  • Category A: Professional project
    • A1: Bac + 1 to Bac + 5
    • A2: Bac + 5 and above (PhD students, DES, M2 Research)
  • Category B: Entrepreneurship
    Students with innovative and ambitious projects in these fields can compete for prizes that can make a real difference to their career path.

A precise calendar not to be missed

Interested students have until January 15, 2025 to submit their application online. They will need to submit a 300-word maximum summary of their project. Once their application has been validated, participants will have the opportunity to sign up for a "Mastering the pitch" workshop on January 28, to perfect their presentation before the semi-finals, which will take place from February 3 to 6. The grand final will take place on February 6, during which the winners will be presented with their prizes.
