"5 Minutes to Convince" Contest: Give Your Project a Boost at the University of Montpellier
The University of Montpellier is launching the “5 Minutes to Convince” competition: a springboard for student projects.
The University of Montpellier invites students to participate in the “5 Minutes to Convince” competition, an event that showcases professional and entrepreneurial projects while offering exceptional prizes and unique opportunities. If you’re a student at the University of Montpellier and have an innovative idea, now’s the time to make it shine!
A stimulating presentation challenge
The competition offers participants the chance to present their project in just 5 minutes before a panel of judges made up of experts from the socio-economic sector and higher education. This challenge is an excellent opportunity to showcase your ideas and develop oral communication skills, while receiving personalized guidance to turn your ambitions into reality.
Attractive prizes for the winners
Winners in each category will have the chance to win valuable prizes. Each winner will receive a 14-inch EliteBook laptop—a powerful tool to help them move their project forward—as well as tailored support to bring their idea to life. This includes incubator services, expert advice, and opportunities with recruitment firms.
The 30 semifinalists will also receive participation awards, offering all participants a nice token of appreciation for their efforts.
Contest Categories
The contest is divided into two main categories:
- Category A: Career Plan
- A1: 1 year of post-secondary education through 5 years of post-secondary education
- A2: 5 years of higher education or more (Ph.D. candidates, DES, M2 Research)
- Category B: Entrepreneurship
Students with innovative and ambitious projects in these fields will be eligible to compete for prizes that can truly be a game-changer in their careers.
A detailed schedule you won't want to miss
Interested students have until January 15, 2025, to submit their applications online. They must provide a summary of their project of no more than 300 words. Once their registration has been approved, participants will have the opportunity to sign up for a “Mastering Your Pitch” workshop on January 28 to refine their presentations before the semifinals, which will take place from February 3 to 6. The grand finale will be held on February 6, during which prizes will be awarded to the winners.
